New Delhi: The hosting of the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan next year remains uncertain. Pakistan has proposed a hybrid model for the tournament, but has also suggested that all future ICC events in India should follow the same format. The BCCI has reportedly issued a firm response to the Pakistan Cricket Board's suggestion, indicating a potentially contentious situation ahead.

India’s strong reply to PCB:
The BCCI has already made it clear that it will not tour Pakistan due to security reasons. It is known that the PCB has put a condition on the hybrid model proposed by India. This was rejected by the BCCI. There are reports that the BCCI has concluded that there is no security problem in India and there is no question of accepting the hybrid model for ICC events to be held here. The BCCI has made this clear to the ICC.

This is why Pakistan is upset:
India will host the Women’s ODI World Cup next year. India will jointly host the T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka in 2026. Along with this, the 2029 Champions Trophy and the 2031 ODI World Cup will also be held in India. In this connection, Pakistan has raised a new demand.

On the other hand, for the last few days, there has been a serious movement going on in Pakistan for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from jail. Imran Khan’s supporters are protesting on a large scale. In this sequence, the Sri Lankan team left the series in Pakistan. The Sri Lanka-A team went to Pakistan to play two Tests and three ODIs. But amid these concerns, they left the series midway and went home with two ODIs remaining.
