New Delhi: Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj faced jeers from some audience members during the opening day of the third Test against Australia at The Gabba in Brisbane. The incident occurred as Siraj prepared to bowl the second over of Australia's innings. This reaction was a result of a previous altercation between Siraj and Travis Head during the second Test in Adelaide, which led to penalties for both players. Siraj was fined 20 percent of his match fee, while Head received a demerit point.

In the third Test match against Australia, Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided that his team would take to bowling first.

India has subtly tweaked their team composition, bringing in Akash Deep instead of Harshit Rana and swapping R Ashwin for Ravindra Jadeja.

Josh Hazlewood, having recuperated from a side injury, has returned to step into his role in the Australian team, filling the spot previously occupied by Scott Boland.

“Little bit overcast and little bit of grass, looks a bit soft as well, want to make best use of the conditions. It will get better to bat as it goes on,” Rohit said at the toss.

“Big game for us here, we’ll do what is expected of us. We’ll play good cricket, we understand we have to capture some moments, we didn’t do that in the previous game which is why we lost,” he added.

At the moment, both sides have claimed a victory in the five-game series, sitting at a draw with one win apiece.
