India Placed in Favorable Group for U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025, Opens Campaign Against West Indies

New Delhi: The U-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025, to be held in Malaysia, will see defending champions India kick off their campaign against West Indies on January 19, as per the schedule released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday. In Group A, India and West Indies will be joined by hosts Malaysia and Sri Lanka, with all matches in the group stage set to take place at the Bayuemas Oval in Selangor.

Following the success of the inaugural edition, sixteen teams from around the world have been divided into four groups of four teams each. The top three teams from each of the four groups will advance into the Super 6 stage. India will play the rest of their group games against Malaysia on January 21 and Sri Lanka two days later.

The top three teams from Group A and D will constitute Group 1 while that of B and C will make Group 2. The top two teams from Group 1 and 2 will then make it to the semifinals on January 31. The Bayuemas Oval in Selangor will host the final on February 2. February 1 is a reserve day for the semifinals while February 3 is a reserve day for the final.

This will be Malaysia’s first appearance in the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup as well as Samoa’s first appearance in an ICC World Cup event. To add more to that there will be 16 warm-up fixtures to be played from January 13 to 16, in preparation for the main event
