Robbin Uthappa Endorses this Indian Star to Captain RCB in IPL 2025

RCB is gearing up for the upcoming mega auction for IPL 2025 with full force, choosing to retain only three players and holding the second highest purse of 83 crore, just behind Punjab Kings who have 110.5 crore. The highly anticipated auction is scheduled to take place on 24th and 25th of November in the vibrant city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Former Indian player Robbin Uthappa has thrown his dice towards Rajat Patidar and expressed he should lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru in upcoming and further edition of IPL. Having the options of players like Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and many other players who have captained their side in IPL. Shreyas Iyer who is into the auction after a successful campaign of IPL 2024 and also will be for very first time when IPL tittle wining captain is into auction for the next season. Putting all these aside Uthappa believes RCB should try their star batsman Rajat Patidar as a captain.

On JIO cinema Robin Uthappa said “I think they should look at Rajat Patidar to take the captaincy role because you need a new leader after two years. So its better to do it now and build your team around for the next three to five years. Rajat is one of those players who can perfectly play the role for them”.

RCB holds their purse strong by retaining only three players Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal resulting top stars like Will Jacks, Glen Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj are likely to part their ways from the Karnataka based IPL franchise. However, former Indian cricketer believes that RCB can get back Will Jacks and Mohammed Siraj by using RTM.

He also expressed RCB can use RTM card for will jacks and not for Siraj as jacks is comparatively more versatile than Siraj. He can bat at number two and also becomes handy in bowling in slow and turning pitches like in Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Lucknow. Furthermore, RCB is keen to build a formidable site and end the drought of 18 years of not winning IPL tittle and what could be a better opportunity than this of having second biggest purse giving you full authority to take players of your wish.

The IPL Auction be held on Sunday and Monday in Jeddah.
