Argentina vs. Chile: World Cup Qualifying Live Score and Updates - Lionel Messi sidelined for CONMEBOL match

web editor

With the September international break upon us, CONMEBOL qualifying for the biggest football tournament in two years is back in action. Argentina is leading the standings after an impressive start with six games played.

Unfortunately, the Albiceleste will be without Lionel Messi for this international break as he recovers from an ankle injury, but Lionel Scaloni's side showed they can win trophies without the legendary forward in the Copa America final.

Chile, meanwhile, are in a rut, sitting outside the expanded qualifying positions through the first six matches. They were also eliminated from the Copa America by North American upstarts Canada, indicating they have work to do to turn things around.
