At 32 years old, the player has not yet committed to a new contract with the Reds. With his current deal expiring this summer, speculation abounds about his future at the club.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah says he is only focused on enjoying the last year of his contract before making the decision to leave the club next year.AdvertisementAdvertisement

Liverpool had rejected a £150M offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah last September as they wanted to fight for the title for what be the last time this season.

"Before the season, I was just like 'I've got one year left, let's just enjoy it and don't think about the contract'," Salah told .

"I don't want to think about next year or the future, I just want to enjoy the last year (of my contract) and let's see.

"The most important thing is to take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here."

The Egypt captain is reportedly the highest paid player in the club's history, on more than £350,000 a week which is a lot for a club such as Liverpool who never offer huge wages to players.

Salah has scored twice in his first appearances under new manager Arne Slot and has won every major trophy under Klopp other than the Europa League.

If he was to leave in the summer then it would be a huge blow for the club which could explain their recent signing for Federico Chiesa this week.
